Our firm was retained by a U.S. startup to petition for its incoming Chief Product Officer, a serial founder of highly successful digital commerce startups, as a person of extraordinary ability. The petition was approved in premium processing.

Almost every achievement in the record had been earned outside the United States, in a market whose institutions mean nothing to an adjudicator on their face, so we supplied the context. We established that the technology company which acquired the beneficiary's online marketplace had made only a few acquisitions, and explained what that scarcity signified. For every outlet that had interviewed him or published his work, we documented monthly readership and standing in the trade. For accelerators that admitted his ventures, we documented selectivity and track record. Where the record offered numbers, we used them: audiences and revenues growing under his leadership, and a six-figure euro round raised at a seven-figure valuation.

The completed petition satisfied five of the eight regulatory criteria, and the client is now building a new e-commerce platform for the U.S. market.
